Director of Product Management

Position Summary

Virtuous is hiring a Director of Product Management to lead product discovery and delivery for the world’s premiere Responsive Fundraising Platform for nonprofits. Virtuous is the software company helping nonprofits raise more money and do more good. If hired you will be driving the product roadmap at one of Phoenix’s fastest growing tech startups.

The Director of Product Management will define and help deliver high-value platform features to our nonprofit customers. The ideal candidate has deep experience in SaaS software space and is committed to delivering unique, market-defining software experiences to nonprofits. This role is responsible for gathering and prioritizing product requirements, refining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

The Director of Product Management role reports directly to the CEO and will be responsible for communicating product vision within the company and acting as an innovation thought-leader within the industry.


  • Define the roadmap and strategy for the Virtuous product.
  • Use product software (Jira, Trello, etc) to define and prioritize features, and then communicate with engineering and success teams.
  • Act as a liaison and advocate between engineering, success, marketing and sales to ensure highest value features are delivered
  • Work with partners and customers to understand feature requirements and market trends.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing to develop product and role-based messaging
  • Conduct User Groups and pilot programs with early-stage products or wireframes
  • Deliver competitive knowledge to the sales, marketing and engineering teams, and leverage research to provide actionable insights
  • Work shoulder to shoulder with the engineering and UX team in Sprint Planning and stand-ups to ensure features will deliver expected value.
  • Collaborate with other marketing teams to develop and execute campaigns to drive engagement with key content and engage ideal customer contacts
  • Provide product, market, and competitive analysis training for internal teams
  • Work with Marketing team to ensure Product Marketing initiatives are communicating real product value
  • Leverage data analytics and interviews to understand customer friction points and product gaps
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to identify sales and pricing opportunities that drive toward organizational goals

Things You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of Product Management in a SaaS-based environment
  • Track record of owning and delivering outstanding SaaS products
  • Experience writing user stories, creating wireframes/prototypes, market research, competitive analysis and product planning
  • Experience with InVision, Sketch, Figma a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of and passion for nonprofits
  • Strong presentation skills and willingness to become a thought leader in the industry
  • Results-oriented; proven ability to prioritize, drive and achieve results through self and others under time pressure.
  • Strong leadership skills and effective at managing in all directions, including staff and executive management
